This Thursday, January 19, at 1:30 PM (5:30 PM in Italy), the Gradoni Hall at the Università Iuav di Venezia library will host the book launch for Del territorio al detalle (Bifurcaciones, 2021). Edited by architect and academic Germán Valenzuela, the volume serves as an effort to gather a significant portion of the Latin American architectural discourse from the last decade into a single publication.
The book is based on a series of lectures delivered at the international seminar on Latin American architecture of the same name, which has been organized by the Universidad de Talca’s School of Architecture since 2007. Featuring over 50 speakers—including architects and collectives—the volume selects, transcribes, and edits 13 of these lectures. The result is a series of original texts that reveal, from within, the authorial thinking behind some of the most prominent works in the current contemporary Latin American landscape.
