From January 24 to 26, various locations throughout Chillán will host the public forum on art, architecture, and the city: "Chillán: Modern Landscape/ Territories in Transformation." The event includes lectures, free workshops, and a grand closing celebration featuring folk singers and other cultural expressions.
The event aims to bring together the community, artists, architects, and international intellectuals in a gathering focused on revaluing the human, artistic, and territorial heritage of the recently established 16th Ñuble Region.
In 1939, the city of Chillán was completely destroyed by a violent earthquake. While this catastrophe is an indelible part of the area's history, it also provided an opportunity for the territory and its communities to rebuild and develop a unique identity and ecosystem of thought on a national level.
