"Urban Crossings" Competition: Registration Open

A travessa—or crossway—represents transversality over convention; it is a shortcut that avoids the obvious, an alternative for shortening paths and connecting disparate pieces juxtaposed by its presence.

This theme emerges at a time when we are navigating various crises—environmental, economic, political, and mobility-related—and, most notably, social crises that demand projects and solutions prioritizing the inclusion of those who remain marginalized, struggling to navigate cities defined by hostile, exclusionary, sexist, and separatist architecture.
