In 2000, the Cátedra Luis Barragán was born at the Tecnológico de Monterrey with the intention of creating a space for reflection for architecture students and professionals. Its main objective was to raise awareness and enrich the conversation about the meaning and importance of the discipline as a service for the integral development of society.
Between 2000 and 2010, 22 editions of the Chair were organized, with 21 guests of diverse profiles, who shared their visions and reflections on architectural work, their projects and their works. Some of the guests who participated in the Chair are Shigeru Ban (Pritzker 2014), Glenn Murcutt (Pritzker 2002), Eduardo Soto de Moura (Pritzker 2011), Pedro Ramírez Vázquez, Charles Correa, Rogelio Salmona, Ricardo Legorreta, Teodoro González de León, Juhani Pallasmaa, Carme Pinós, Emilio Ambasz and Alberto Campo Baeza, among others.
