Text description provided by the architects. This project involved the refurbishment of an existing “horizontal property” construction (ph), typical of Buenos Aires, from the 1970s. It is located on the border of the city, surrounded by urban barriers such as a highway, train tracks, an avenue, and a linear park. The street where this house is situated is one of the busiest exits from Buenos Aires, with buses, cars, and trucks passing by. The front block is entirely a green square, with varying users depending on the day of the week. On weekdays, nearby residents walk their dogs and recycling plant workers play football. On weekends, people from the neighborhood come to enjoy the sun with their beach chairs. In the center of the block, there is almost complete silence, as each parcel contains only one, two, or three houses.
